Hardcore surfer girls weren't resonating with O'Neill's Superkini pink
Barbie-esque logo.
So it was time to modernize the branding of O'Neill's iconic self-sticking "Superkini" (once pink Barbie font) and create a new identity that inspires the hardcore women of surf to ride stylishly and fearlessly. Superkini, as its name entails, is built to withstand situations that other bikinis cannot- such as shredding big waves without the fear of exposing unwanted bits.

I wanted to create something timeless and playful, and that nods to the colors of the product itself. A feeling of being strong and invincible, while also using elements of one of the world's most brilliant and grippiest of creatures, the octopus.
